Silver-kun has told me that Mochizuki-san sleeps very little, and more noticeably he doesn't eat. He'll do it when he's reminded or told to, but otherwise he doesn't seem to need to. Lately he's taken to locking himself in his room for long periods of time - and perhaps more telling, he's been locking Silver-kun out.
Miss Everett, on the other hand...she smells similar to someone I know - someone who's one of us, but his body has been modified. I think she may have experienced the same, she's mentioned doctors and medical procedures...the fact that she seems to be from an earlier time is irrelevant, as ghouls have existed for centuries. It's not unreasonable to think she's one of ours as well. She's another that never eats, and she seems to be falling ill and having complications that she isn't willing to elaborate on.
Bluntly put, I think they're both starving and starting to feel the effects of it. I believe Mochizuki-san has been better off than Miss Everett, but I don't know how much that's saying.
